This procedure is performed under general anesthesia only, with an intubated patient — sedation or no anesthesia at all is considered an unsafe and incomplete alternative, not a service we offer.
What dentistry includes
Ultrasonic scaling removes deposits that can't be removed with a toothbrush, followed by thorough cleaning and polishing, which slows the tartar from building back up.
Tooth extraction is done when a tooth is too damaged or loose to be saved — the decision is made during the oral exam, before the procedure itself.

When an Exam Is Needed
Book a dental exam if you notice any of the following in your dog or cat:
- visible tartar or yellowish deposits on the teeth
- redness, swelling or bleeding gums
- noticeable bad breath
- difficulty chewing or refusing hard food
- a loose or visibly damaged tooth
